"GoldenEye" is a popular first-person shooter video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 console in 1997. It was based on the James Bond film of the same name and follows the story of James Bond as he tries to stop the villainous organization known as Janus from using a satellite weapon to destroy London.

The game was praised for its single-player campaign, which featured a variety of missions and challenges, as well as its multiplayer mode, which allowed up to four players to compete against each other in split-screen mode. It also received acclaim for its innovative gameplay mechanics, including the ability to aim and shoot with both hands and the use of stealth tactics to complete missions.

"GoldenEye" was a commercial and critical success, selling over 8 million copies worldwide and winning numerous awards, including the BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Award for Best Action/Adventure Game. It is often cited as one of the greatest and most influential video games of all time, and has been credited with popularizing the first-person shooter genre on consoles.
