Bomberman, known as "Bomberman: Bakudan Otoko" in Japan, is a classic action-puzzle game developed and published by Hudson Soft for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1985. It is the first game in the long-running Bomberman series.

In Bomberman, players control a character named White Bomberman, who must navigate through a maze-like grid filled with enemies and obstacles. The objective is to strategically place bombs to destroy obstacles, defeat enemies, and ultimately reach the exit within the time limit.

The game features both a single-player mode and a multiplayer mode. In single-player, players progress through a series of levels, each with its own unique maze layout and enemy placements. The difficulty increases as players advance through the levels, introducing more challenging enemies and complex maze designs.

The multiplayer mode in Bomberman allows two players to compete against each other in a battle arena. Each player controls their own Bomberman character and must strategically place bombs to trap and defeat their opponent. Power-ups and additional abilities can be obtained by destroying certain blocks in the arena, providing an advantage in the battle.

Bomberman became popular for its addictive gameplay, simple yet challenging mechanics, and the ability to play with friends in multiplayer mode. The game's success led to numerous sequels and spin-offs across various gaming platforms.

The NES version of Bomberman laid the foundation for the series, establishing the core gameplay mechanics and the iconic character. It remains a beloved classic among retro gaming enthusiasts and a staple title in the Bomberman franchise.
